Iceland Airwaves 13-17 October 2010
It's that time again when Reykjavik is filled with the buzz of the latest live music.
Now in it's 12th year, Iceland Airwaves festival kicks off in October at a variety of venues around the city, where bands from both Iceland and abroad will be giving their best to hordes of appreciative festival goers.
The festival is a perfect opportunity to experience bands you may never have heard of and as it spans several genres of today's music, there's something for everyone – you never know, somebody new could be added to your faves list.
Be prepared for queues though, as some of the venues are relatively small and the local acts are very popular – but it is well worth the wait.

Admission to the festival events is by wristband only which also entitles the wearer to at least 10% discount at participating stores including clothes, music and gift shops as well as restaurants, cafes and bars. The cost for a wristband pass is 80kr. (approximately £50, based on the current exchange rate), so with all the extra deals and discounts to be had, is extremely good value.
Icelandair are offering festival packages starting from £329 per person based on a two night break.
