During the festive season some shops, restaurants and museums etc. maybe closed for prolonged periods allowing their employees to celebrate, and spend time with their families.
Some hotels, too, are usually affected by the holiday season, so if you're planning on making a last minute booking, it's worth bearing this in mind.
